The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art was named after the couple who founded it. Emmett Leepa-Rattner was a lawyer and a judge in Florida. He went on to become the president of the Leepa-Rattner Furniture Company. Dorothy Leepa-Rattner was also a lawyer, who married into the family of the Leepa-Rattner Furniture Company. She became the president of the Dorothy Leepa-Rattner Foundation, a charitable foundation that has supported orchestras, museums and schools in the region. The museum was also named after Dorothy and her husband Emmett’s daughter, Leepa-Rattner.
