Coachman Ridge is a neighborhood in northwestern Clearwater, on the northside of Tampa Bay, just across the bay from St. Petersburg. Although it doesn’t have the greatest view, this area has a lot to offer. The neighborhood is fairly small and has a lot of charm.  As you might imagine, the area is named after the many old rail cars that run along the Route 990 corridor. While you might not think of rail cars as charming, they certainly give the area a unique feel.  There’s not much else to the neighborhood besides that, but it’s a nice place to live if you can get one of the few houses. The houses tend to be small and have their own yards, which is to be expected in a neighborhood like this. As for amenities, the neighborhood does have access to sidewalks, a golf course, a lake, and a few parks. If you’re looking for a place to settle down and raise a family, this might not be the best fit. However, if you’re looking for a nice place to live, you might want to check out the neighborhood.


What’s the history of Coachman Ridge?

The area that would become Coachman Ridge was first settled in the mid-1800s by German immigrants. In the 1880s, the Pinellas Railroad Company began to survey the area for a rail line that would come here. However, the area continued to grow with a booming orange industry. This is the main reason the area was largely undeveloped until the 1920s. In the 1920s, orange groves were replaced with residential development, including the neighborhood of Coachman Ridge

How to get to Coachman Ridge?

To get to Coachman Ridge, you’ll have to drive I-275 to US 19 North. US 19 North will take you directly to Clearwater, where you can turn onto LPG-34 North, which will take you to Coachman Ridge. You’ll have to stop at a traffic signal, so be careful when driving around those.


The homes in Coachman Ridge

One of the best things about the homes in Coachman Ridge is that most of them have their own yard. This means you won’t have to worry about parking nearly as much, which means you’ll have more energy to spend doing the things you want to do.  The homes in Coachman Ridge are fairly small, with an average size of around 1,400 square feet. However, there are a few large homes here as well, with lots of space. Most of the homes in Coachman Ridge are single-family homes, but there are a few duplexes, apartments, and condos.


Final words: Is Coachman Ridge for you?

This might not be the best place for you if... You want a great view  If you’re looking for charm, this might not be the place for you. Even though this is a small area, the homes here seem to be mostly cookie-cutter, new homes. There’s not a ton here to make the area stand out. You won’t find a ton of shops, restaurants, or other things to do here. There’s not much to do here, unless you’re into orange groves and rail cars. You’ll have to drive a decent distance from other parts of Clearwater to find those, and you’ll probably have to drive through some traffic, too.


Where to Carpool to Daycare in Clearwater

There are a few places in Clearwater that offer daycare. However, Coachman Ridge is a fairly isolated neighborhood. This might not be the best place for daycare, as you can’t walk to the daycare. If you’re looking for a place to drop off your child at daycare, your best bet is to drive to a different part of Clearwater, where you’ll have a lot more options.


Where to Carpool to Grocery Shop in Clearwater

If you’re looking for a place to pick up your groceries, you might be out of luck here. The closest grocery store is Publix, at least a few miles away. You might be able to find some organic fruits and vegetables here, but other than that, you’ll have to head to a different part of Clearwater to pick up your groceries.


Where to Carpool to Avoid Traffic

Clearwater Beach is a popular tourist destination, and it will definitely get busy during certain times of the year. If you want to avoid the traffic here, you might be able to find a spot in Coachman Ridge where you don’t have to deal with traffic. You’ll probably have to drive to a different part of Clearwater to find a place where you don’t have to deal with the traffic.


Where to Get Your Hair Cut in Clearwater

There are a few places in Clearwater that do hair cuts. You might be able to find one here.  If you’re looking for a place to get your hair cut, you might be out of luck here. There aren’t a ton of places to get your hair cut in this area. You might have a better chance in a different part of Clearwater.
