Our Story

The Mold Girl® began more than a decade ago when our founder—an environmental science graduate and lifelong Gulf-Coast resident—realized that most “mold companies” were really remediation contractors selling tear-outs and rebuilds. Homeowners deserved an independent, science-based advocate whose sole focus was finding the root of indoor-air problems and writing a clear, unbiased plan for resolution.

Today we’re still proudly woman-owned and operated, but our reach has grown from single-family homes in Clearwater to medical facilities, schools, and commercial high-rises across West-Central Florida.

Lauren *** (“The Mold Girl”) is a Florida-licensed Mold Assessor, Council-Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC) and self-described “science nerd.” When she’s not chasing hidden leaks with her infrared camera, you’ll find her speaking at IAQ conferences or volunteering with local hurricane-recovery teams to provide pro-bono assessments for families in need.
